It's late Sunday afternoon and it's a time that I can be a little reflective.
I love quotes as well-said phrases can tell us a lot, sometimes make us think, and, in a few cases, maybe make us smile.
Here are a few for your reflection.
Plutarch: "A good man will take care of his horses and dogs, not only when they are young, but also when they are old and past service."
Phil West: "You don't break these animals. You come to an understanding with them."
Robert Smith Surtees: "There is no secret so close as that between a horse and his rider."
Winston Churchill: "There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man."
Peter Gray: "We have almost forgotten how strange a thing it is that so huge and powerful and intelligent an animal such as a horse will allow another, and more far more feeble animal such as us, to ride upon his back."
John Adams: "Old minds are like old horses; you must exercise them if you wish to keep them in working order."
God's blessings to all who read this on this Lord's day.
Today is August 3 and if today is your Birthday then you share your day with: Betty's older brother, Bill Wade (neat guy), Tom Brady (Superbowl champion NE Patriots quarterback), James Hetfield (lead singer - "Metallica"), Jay North (child actor - "Dennis the Menace"), Martha Stewart (businesswoman and ex-felon), Martin Sheen (actor - "West Wing"), Tony Bennett (singer - "I Left My Heart in San Franscisco"), Ernie Pyle (WW II correspondent - lived in Albuquerque, NM), and John T. Scopes (teacher convicted of teaching evolution in "Scopes Monkey Trial").

I love those quotes. They speak volumes!
My favorite of those is the Winston Churchill quote! I have heard that before and love it. Hope your Sunday was wonderful. love ya
I have often pondered Peter Gray's quote. It amazes me every day that horses allow us to tell THEM what to do and allow us to ride on their backs without tossing us into the air every single time.
What did we do to deserve such an honor as to ride on such a powerful and noble creature?
