A Stain Upon Our Stable

Betty and I are having the outside wood work on our house stained by a neat man named John. He finished the house this morning and is finishing the job by staining the stable.

Normally, we feed Morgunn and Gletta in their stalls. However, we took their hay out to the back of their paddock. This would give John time to stain the stall doors.

However, Gletta decided that she was thirsty and walked back to the run out to get a drink from their water tank.

Gletta's the shy one of our two horses. She planned to stick her head over the fence railing and get a drink, but she was surprised to see John there. She stood there for several minutes. Every once in awhile she would shake her head or swish her tail as if she was saying, "get out of my run out so I can get a drink." John was great and just ignored her which was the best thing he could have done. Finally her thirst got the better of Gletta. She took a few tentative steps toward the water and, getting no response from John, finally got the nerve to stick her head over the rail to get a drink. Way to go Gletta and way to go John!

I hope you still provided them their peeled carrots! ;)

Brave girl! Good job, Gletta!
